This is a second form of the variable Salvia microphylla. It used to be considered a "var. neurepia", but now is not considered distinctive enough to merit varietal status. However, it is distinct enough to merit a cultivar name. It is 3' by 4' with signal-red flowers borne in profusion throughout the warm months of the year. This salvia also needs full sun, well drained soil, moderate water and is hardy to 20º.
