Wallichia densiflora
Arecaceae
Jason Dewees, San Francisco

A pinnate clustering palm from the foothills of the
Himalaya in Assam, India, this species grows as high
as 1600 meters above sea level and tolerates some
frost. A new introduction to the Bay Area, it may
require a bit of heat to grow well, but is certainly
worth testing in Sunset zones 17-14 in reasonably
well-drained soils with regular water and bright shade or dappled sun.
