Heterospathe sp. "Yaga"
Arecaceae Jason Dewees, San Francisco A little-known collection from Papua New Guinea, this species is in cultivation near Brisbane in Queensland, Australia and is reputed to be cold hardy. It's pinnate, clumping, unarmed, with bronze new leaves. Probably cannot dry out or take full sun when young. Worth testing for the cloudforest collections. Photo by Bruce Peters |
