Caryota gigas Arecaceae Jason Dewees, San Francisco An enormous fishtail palm (to 125 feet high) newly introduced from mountains around Chiang Mai, Thailand, tolerant of some frost and sun but requiring regular moisture and a bit of summer heat to grow well.
