This close ally to the popular shrub called "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow" has unfading purple-blue flowers and also hails from Brazil.

Tweedia caerulea (oxypetalum caeruleum)
Asclepiadaceae
David Feix, Berkeley

From Brazil and Uruguay, this milkweed relative can weakly climb or sprawl to 3'. Best in full sun, with good drainage and average water, it is hardy in milder parts of the Bay Area, but not always long-lived. The turquoise-blue and mauve flowers match Quesnelia blanda (above) and the next specimen, Bounfelsia pauciflora var. macrantha.
