Dendrobium vexilarius ssp. vexillarius
Dendrobium vexilarius ssp. vexillarius Orchidaceae Alek Koomanoff, San Francisco
This small, almost miniature, orange-flowered orchid covered with flowers originates from high altitudes in New Guinea. It does not like hot temperatures and must be grown cool to produce such a well-grown specimen as the one shown. Like the above species, it is a little too cold sensitive to grow outdoors in the wintertime and is best grown in a cool greenhouse.
