Cymbidium "Brandywine"
Family: Orchidaceae
Common Name(s):
Grown by: Jack Halpern, San Francisco

Most of us have grown Cymbidium orchids in pots or even in the ground. This particular hybrid is unique for its deep burgundy-red flowers. More often the dark flowered ones are on dwarf or miniature varieties,

Cymbidium species are native to high altitudes in southeast Asia and appreciate the areas of the bay with cool summers. They bloom best in filtered light with plenty of fertilizer.
