Although the common name is Glory Bush for the usual cultivar the South American name is Lent tree, for the usual time of bloom in those countries. Most species are Brazilian, and with about 350 in different sizes, flowers of violet or purple there is quite a choice. This species has smaller leaves and flowers than T. heteromalla.
