Ageratum corymbosum

Ageratum corymbosum (Bartlettina sordida)
Compositae
David Feix, Berkeley
This is a Mexican bushy ageratum which the taxonomists have not completely decided on between Ageratum, Eupatorium or Bartlettina. It was named for a botanist from Ann Arbor, Michigan and is a handsome shrub with young growth covered in dense golden-red wool. The leaves are large and evergreen, often dark purple beneath. As might be expected, it has large terminal clusters of violet-purple flowers which are very fragrant.
