Impatiens mackeyana
Balsaminaceae Don Mahoney, Strybing, San Francisco This is another of the recently available species of impatiens from Africa. This plant is not hardy outdoors in the wintertime but is well worth growing as a houseplant. It has rather large, deep green leaves with silver markings much like a cyclamen leaf. The flowers are lilac with white and yellow markings and are about an inch long. It is very new to cultivation. Photo by Bruce Peters |
