Drimia gigantea
Family: Hyacinthaceae
Common Name(s):
Grown by: Bruce Peters, San Francisco

This has gone by various names over the years and more people may know it as Ledebouria gigantea. It is similar to other Ledebourias, only as the name implies it is much bigger.

The plant shown had numerous bulb like swollen above ground stems from which several spoon shaped leaves give rise to two inch stems of small bell like flowers. They are very succulent and are best used as container plants. They are native to south Africa.
