Gloxinia sp. Gesneriaceae Kristin Yanker-Hansen, Danville This neat little African violet relative from Central America had a beautiful pink flower with white markings. These rhizomatous plants are best treated as house plants but with protection from snails and freezing in winter will go dormant and reappear in the spring.
