Althea ficifolia hybrid
Malvaceae Kristin Yanker-Hansen, Danville This yellow flowered hollyhock (often with peach markings) has somewhat grayer leaves that are a little more lobed than regular garden hollyhocks. The exhibitor says they can reach to 10 feet and bloom spring to fall and are usually biennial but offset for another year. A good plant for deer areas as deer dont eat it (at least in Danville). Kristin usually gives seed of this plant to the seed exchange. Photo by Kristin Yanker-Hansen |
