Hibiscus biseptus,
Malvaceae.
A close up of those nettle-like bristles.
This hibiscus is native to Arizona. Like the former it has palmately lobed leaves but is a clearly smaller plant. The shrub appears deer-proof probably because of sharp-pointed hairs on the
stems and foliage. It might reach 20" and repeats the theme of yellow with a maroon center.
